Weddings are (usually) super fun- reuniting with friends, drinking too much champagne, and getting those warm fuzzies during the ceremony that remind you that you're not a robot. What's not fun about weddings? Spending a ton of money- especially on an outfit that you wear one time.
I have half-a-dozen dresses in my closet that I've only worn once, to weddings. To insure this never happens again (except for maybe my own real wedding dress, someday), I have vowed to only buy "wedding dresses" that I can wear for many other things, including to work.
I love this bright little number from Anthro- it's poppy enough to say "FUN! Summer Wedding" but totally office appropriate when paired with a cardigan and pearls. These fun Dorothy Perkins heels have a fun gold cap-toe, and the nude color is slightly pink that brings out the warm tone of the red dress. My "must work with other outfits" rule also applies to shoes- and these little ladies definitely work with other pieces in my closet.
Tello & Rose always makes classic and versatile pieces that keep a bit of RI with you- regardless of where the wedding is. This adorable Ikat clutch holds your cell phone, keys and lipgloss; but is also tiny enough to take on the dance floor with you.
And, who doesn't love a cocktail in a vintage coupe?
